Almond Caramel Bars
| 4 eggs, beaten |
|
1 cup sugar |
|
1 1/2 cups brown sugar, packed |
|
1 1/2 cups flour |
|
1 teaspoon baking powder |
|
1/4 teaspoon salt |
|
1 1/2 cups almonds, chopped |
|
1/2 cup butter or margarine |
|
2 tablespoons milk |
Directions
1)Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
2)In a large bowl, combine eggs, sugar, brown sugar, flour, baking powder, salt and 1 cup of almonds; stir until moistened.
3)Spread mixture into a greased 10x13-inch pan. Bake 25-30 minutes.
4)Melt butter in a small saucepan; stir in milk, 1/2 cup brown sugar and a 1/2 cup almonds. Spread over warm bars.
5)Broil bars 4" from heat for 2-3 minutes or until bubbly and golden brown. Cool; cut into bars.
